How do i bring it up in conversation?

I've been texting this really cute guy i met before school ended almost all summer. We can talk for hours about school, sports, etc. but we never talk about dating or relationships. He could just be friendly, but I'm starting to think that he likes me too but i dont know how to bring it up in conversation subtly. I'm not typically the type of girl that asks a guy out but how do I at least put the idea in his head without seeming too forward or random?
