Visa Gift Card Pending Authorization. Help!?

I purchased a Visa Green Dot shopping gift card and on June 28th, I purchased an item online. However, I canceled the order shortly after and when I checked my gift card it said that I only had 1 dollar, the purchase was 39.99. The company said that they didn't receive my funds so there was no money to return. I decided to wait a couple days to see if money was returned to my card but it still wasn't. It was placed into "Pending Authorization". I was wondering if anyone knows how long pending authorizations last and how long it will take for my money to be returned. I tried calling Visa green dot shopping. They claimed to have live customer service but when you call its only a machine and you're charged $0.50...

I would suggest "On Becoming Babywise". They have two books and I would suggest getting both even though the first one is for 0-6 mos of age. You need to read both to understand the methodology and practice of good sleeping habits (but luckily they are both easy reads). Since your baby is 14 months old, you are going to have to retrain him/her.... so expect some hearty tears from your baby with whatever sleep training method you select. But Babywise does work so I strongly recommend you try it!

They don't make Jordans like they used too, the quality has dropped, but if you really want one, you're gonna have to pay $150 or so. They will last for a long time as long as you don't wear them a lot and take care of them. Avoid getting them wet or stepping on dirt and mud, always clean them after every use. Me personally? I don't have an issue with it. I for one highly encourage "all" parents to whip their kids hind parts in public if their kids misbehave! I had a traditional bikini line hysterectomy 3 years ago after a cancer scare. I always had a fairly flat stomach, not ripped and firm, but flat-ish. 3 years later, it seems the more I try to get my stomach down with diet and exercise, the more intent it seems to be on staying put. Does Canada Dry ginger ale really have ginger in it?

Actually- they can call it what ever they want- even ginger ale, and not contain ginger. What they can not do- is list on the ingredients "ginger" unless there truly is ginger in it. As far as dr's and mom's- ginger is a healer, but they want you to drink it for the warm carbonation- not the ginger. Back in the day, you would drink tonic- and have a ginger compress made of grated ginger boiled with cheese cloth. But no "ginger ale", that came later, and for the aformentioned bubbles. As for the "natural flavors" yes, thats where they "could" have ginger...but well never truly know- as there is no regulations holding them to anything under "natural flavors". Reality- Im sure there is some, but not much at all. Ginger has a very strong taste- so Canada Dry knows better then to put much if any real ginger in their drink. Try a REAL ginger ale- like Grown Up Soda or Blenheim. Then you will realize the LACK of real ginger in Canada Dry. But hey- I love the stuff!!

That would be a little over 3 years ago, when going through a REALLY BAD breakup with my ex. I was still hoping things would work out, and he was really taking advantage of that. He called me one night and asked me to come over, and I agreed. I went back around to the front door, which was now open and went in. I mean, he actually told them I kicked in his front door. Well, the cops looked at the door and saw that there were no signs of forced entry, so they knew then that it was b.s. but they had to take me in anyway. In the end, I ended up with a criminal tresping charge since I was on his property, and since he lied in court and said he didn't want me there. What an as*hole! What really sucks is, I have two kids with him so I still have to see him at least twice a month!

I live in a quiet town. Recently, though, a man was trying to "abduct" girls while they were walking. Needless to say, I walk A LOT. So, my question would be what are some good and (semi)easy self defense moves that I could use on an attacker? Here's something to chew on....?

We met in Oklahoma in February 2000. We were extremely happy until a tradgic automobile accident involving Robert late December 2003. Robert was struck by an elderly woman driving a car. She was apparently driving ( according to the police report ) at a speed of approximately 60 mph down a side street and didn't stop for the stop sign, striking Robert on the driver's side of his work van and plowing him into a telephone pole. Robert suffered a tramatic brain injury, resulting in short and long term memory loss. This injury left him very messed up...he can no longer read sentences with "big" words, he is not able to read his tape measure, add, subtract, multiply, or divide simple or complex math problems. We had so many plans for our future...Plans that have been put on hold indefinately because I have been fighting with our auto insurance to get Robert the help he needs to regain at least a fraction of the beautiful mind he once posessed. He also suffered bodily damage resulting in the loss of 30 percent of his right patella and severe right shoulder damage, both of which he had to under-go major surgery for. I have been working 2 full time jobs and one part time job for almost 2 years just to keep us alive. I have 2 children from a previous marriage and Robert and I share a beautiful 2 year old son together. I bought a computer to help Robert to learn to read better and do the math again so maybe he would be able to return to the work he once loved so much and be happy again. I am a nurse and I work several private home cases. I happened to get off work a little early one evening and decided to swing by our house to give Robert a hug and kiss before my next case and tell him I love him. I got out of my truck and tried to enter the front door, which I found to be locked. I went around to the back door, (which is sliding gl doors,) and stood there outside on the deck, staring through the door in shock at what I was seeing in front of me...Robert wasn't aware I was there...He was on the phone, walking around naked, talking to another woman. I listened to a bit of the conversation and was horrified and shocked by what they were talking about. (you can just imagine by what you guys have obviously shared over the webcam) I opened the door and Robert turned around and took one look at me and turned white as a ghost..I guess the look on my face was enough to make him realize the hurt and humiliation he made me feel. I was working my *** off to keep a $1500.00 a month mortgage paid...not a house in our names mind you...a house that his exwife and him shared at one time and her name was on. I stood by this man through it all, and he has done what to me??? Slandered my personal being, all of which were lies...I have not yet even married him and he says we were divorced a yr. ago...I poured all the love I had into this relationship, and I got my heart ripprd out...Boy, some Thank You, eh? I am a person that needs to know the whole truth about all things, especially when it involves something or someone I love with my total being. You, as a woman, must understand this...So I continued to dig and find out all I didn't know about what my Robert was doing with his time while I was working 20 hours a day...FOR HIM!!! I lost almost 2 years of raising our children and being there for them like a mother is supposed to be. I can't tell you the pain I felt, reading the words he had typed to you, awful degrading things about me, when I am obliviously unaware, going to work EVERYDAY, doing what a devoted woman would do for her family in crisis. I have had only one week off since January 2004. I am tired and drained all the time...missing precious time with my children..for HIM...I feel betrayed and used...as you can imagine. He disconnected my laptop while I was chatting with you about him...He has since constantly been overly apologetic and sickenly loving towards me...But, because of his deceitful behavior and lies, I find myself not able to believe anything he says to me at all anymore. I packed up all of mine and my children's belongings, rented a u-haul and planned on going back to Oklahoma, as far as I could run from this undescribable anguish and emptiness I am feeling, but he filed a court order that I could not leave the state of New Jersey with our son. And I am forced to face daily, the emotions I wanted to run away from...just his presence in the same house with me, thinking of the hurtful words this man spoke of me when all I did was love him was physically painful. He tells me he is so sorry, but he couldn't let the best thing that ever happened to him in his life...(being me, our son, and his step-children.) get away...that's the reason for the court order...not to hurt me anymore...wants to rectify the damage and hurt he has inflicted upon me...I have been trying so hard to hold myself together...But, how can one forgive or forget a cut so deep? In the local school district in my state, the rule is this, as long as students are showing up to cl, teachers may not fail them in the subject. Even if they don't know beans about the cl and have demonstarted no learning by the end of the semester, they MUST get at least a D as long as they've met attendance requirements. How much sense does that make? Sadly, there are some very ignorant people out there who actually believe it's so much more important to protect a kid's self esteem than it is to teach him lessons about how life really works, that schools are given no choice but to cater to the lowest common denominator and allow it to set the standard. So what if it takes something away from all students in the end, exceptional as well as not? No, apparently it's more important to protect a kid's psyche and make it impossible for him to fail, even if it does him an injustice in the long run. Those who don't believe there ARE actually students who graduate high school practically illiterate, believe it, it happens. And we wonder why young people have such a hard time when they get out in the real world and have to find out for themselves what life is really all about. Sad state of affairs.

Windows Movie Maker Video keeps stalling after burn?

Just as the title says, I have burned 2 dvd's now and both video's have stalled at different places. We have been together for 4 years and have 2 kids. His mom lives with us because she is the most irresponsible 51 year old woman I know. Disney World FastP confusion...?

Hi like the other people mentioned FastPes are always free, and park hoppers are way over $17. Soarin' doesn't have ride photos. If you are standing looking at the FastP dispensers, directly to your left (only a few feet away) is a counter selling tickets to the Behind the Seeds tour (it was $14 not too long ago, but it may have went up in August like a lot of other Disney prices). Directly behind you (also only a few feet away) is a merchandise counter which I almost guarantee has a few items that are around $17.95. The FastP dispensers are automated (you just stick your ticket in and a FastP pops out), but when the FastPes run out the dispensers are covered with and the person who normally stands over them to tell people how to use them is assigned elsewhere. Sometimes FastPasses run out early in the day, and judging by the number of people getting on at the Epcot monorail station yesterday during park close the park was unusually crowded for this time of year. If the FastPass dispensers were covered and your parents asked at one of those two counters for advise, they people at the counter (especially if they were "Earning their ears", ie new) could have been confused and thought they were asking about a tour ticket/merchandise item (especially the tour ticket). This isn't as unlikely as it may sound, the parks can be just as confusing for a new cast member as for a new guest, and putting the two together can result in just this sort of confusion.

How would you based your ovulation days if you missed a period?

Well, you can't really and be positive on the accuracy of it. Sorry. If you are always like clock work, then it may be something else. You would be testing positive by now for sure if you were pregnant with the last ovulation. I was never like clockwork. Always had irregular periods and then about 4 years later I found out that i had polycystic ovaries. But, basically they told me if I miss a period then there;s no way of telling when ovulation occurs. Feeding 9month old family meals?

ok, I am trying to get my almost 10 month old off jar foods *since she really would rather eat whats on my plate anyway* I am looking for very yummy but safe for baby ideas! yesterday I tried home made meat and pasta, for her I made them seperate without egg whites, seasonings, just ground turkey, egg yolk and a tiny pinch of salt, parmesan cheese, baked them, then chopped them and put it in super tiny noodles with parmesan cheese, she loved it! any other ideas would be great. Going to an amusement park while pregnant?

We (my husband, my parents, and my two children) are planning on going to an amusement park in a few weeks. I am about 13 weeks pregnant, and I obviously know that I can not ride any of the "thrill rides" (roller coasters and such), but should it be okay to ride the kiddie rides (for example, they have a train that goes about 5 mph on a track that curves around the amusement park.)? My grandma died, but im not crying. is that normal?

Right now my favorite vegan recipe is simple. Chocolate covered pretzels. I buy the medium sized pretzel sticks and some vegan chocolate chips. I microwave my chocolate chips, then I dip about 3/4s of the pretzel in it and YUM. Sometimes I even dip the chocolate covered pretzel into crushed peanuts. Then I let them sit in the fridge for 10-15 minutes and then I enjoy! Yum!
