I have dual citizenship in Taiwan and the U.S. What are the legalities of traveling ?

I am aware that any male Taiwanese citizen must do mandatory military service upon turning 18. I'm a U.S. citizen as well and I was wondering if I were to return to Taiwan on a trip, will I be detained and forced into military service, or will my U.S. citizenship override that law?
