Can you answer these questions about the movie "Typhoid Mary"?
Mary Mallon, born in Cookstown Ireland in 1869, emigrated to American when she was 15. She was able to obtain work as a servant. Since cooks earn more, she became a cook. Mary looked healthy, but she was a carrier of typhoid. She transmitted the disease through her cooking, back then people did not understand that things such as germs caused disease. And most bathrooms were out houses and had no washing facilities. Finally she was tracked down by a civil engineer by the name of Soper. She defended herself against him with a large serving fork. He left, but returned and she was placed in the hospital and her stool was found to have the Typhoid bacilli in it. she was put on an island and lived a secluded life, after that.
