Are the chances still high of a child getting snatched?

i remember in 1996 a news report saying that in the usa there were certain parts where if you were a young white girl then the odds of being abducted were high. After the tragic deaths of Jessica Lunsford and many other innocent americans do you think the chances of your child getting abducted are still high, like ''make sure you dont accept a lift from a stranger''. are there sickos still going around on a daily basis looking for there innocent victims or is it just internet freaks checking out sites these days. im purely on about usa here so dont go on about in lower cl countries, which i know is prevelant.
